Italy is not a cliché. And it is more than "Dolce Vita".
It is contradiction and beauty. Loud and quiet. Intense and vulnerable at the same time.
As a woman, you don't just travel through cities here – you travel through dynamics. Through glances. Through a culture that is deeply rooted.
Italy demands attention. And it offers depth.
Rome and Florence are worlds apart. Different rhythms exist between the coast and the interior. Two completely different experiences exist between the tourist center and the side street.
I didn't experience Italy as a postcard. But as a space.
For observation. For differences. For the subtle sense of when a place has meaning – and when it is merely a backdrop.
On the following pages you will find my experiences from:
Rom
Florence
Tuscany & Coast (San Gimignano, Volterra, Pisa, Cecina and other places)
Every city tells a different story. And each demands its own kind of attention.
Italy is not a country to tick off a list. It's one to engage with.
